The Forge
Everything the mine does is in one contract on Robinhood Chain. This is what it can and cannot do, written down before anyone asks.
What is fixed
- Epoch length, seven days, set at deployment and never written again.
- The base block of 1,000,000 PONM and the halving every 26 epochs.
- The digest a proof has to clear, and the fact it binds the chain, the contract, the epoch, the seam and the miner.
- The split: each seam's slice of the block, divided by the work proved on that seam.
- A seam's slice, fixed the moment it opens. Every slice that can take work in an epoch counts toward a 100% cap, so no epoch can mint more than its block.
- The reward token, once set. It can be set once and never redirected.
What the owner can still do
- Open a new seam with a slice that fits under the cap, up to 16 seams.
- Change a seam's difficulty.
- Close a seam, which stops new proofs on it and nothing else.
- Point the mine at $PONM once, when the token exists.
- Hand ownership to another address.
- Top the mine up. Anyone can: it is a plain token transfer to the mine.
The owner cannot change a seam's slice, take a claim, change a past epoch, mint outside the schedule, or stop somebody claiming what an epoch already settled.
The curve
| Epochs | Block each | Minted over the run |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 26 | 1,000,000 | 26,000,000 |
| 27 to 52 | 500,000 | 13,000,000 |
| 53 to 78 | 250,000 | 6,500,000 |
| 79 to 104 | 125,000 | 3,250,000 |
| and so on | halving | approaching 52,000,000 |
An epoch nobody works mints nothing, so the totals above are a ceiling rather than a promise.
